We are all on a journey through life, experiencing it primarily through our physical senses and mental constructs. Yet many of us believe that we are more than our manifested embodiment and intellect, that we exist more meaningfully as spirit, soul, energy, awareness, consciousness, or some other ethereal term. Spiritual Guidance (also known as Spiritual Direction) is companionship and mentoring to explore and cultivate greater attunement to the spiritual aspect of the human experience. It can be pursued outside of or within any religious tradition. You might think of it as a compass - a useful tool whether you are following the map of a particular religion or forging your own path.
Just as a counselor, psychotherapist, or life coach brings expertise from a particular perspective to address certain issues, obstacles, or goals, a Spiritual Mentor brings expertise from another vantage point to support you to live your best life. If you are moving through specific transitions or challenges, Spiritual Guidance may help ease the way. If you have noticed that your belief system no longer seems to fit and desire to define your beliefs in a way that makes sense for you, a Spiritual Mentor can help deepen your relationship with the Sacred - however you might conceive of it. Together we might seek enhanced clarity and facilitate a sense of living more authentically.
My role can vary depending upon your needs, personal style, and the topic at hand. I can simply maintain space for you to be in touch with your true essence and wait with you for what comes forth. Whatever that (idea/intuition/emotion/message/image/etc.) is, together we can be curious about it, nurture it, and otherwise shine light on it. Alternatively or additionally, I can help you define your perspective through gentle questioning and prompting, provide alternative perspectives, suggest tools to try, or propose resources to investigate.
Whether you feel lost and confused when it comes to spirituality, or you are seeking a way to enhance what you already know is True, I invite you to explore it with me as your Spiritual Mentor. You could choose to start with a free 30-minute initial consultation to determine if this is the right option for you.

Radical Self-Love is not a new idea."The central tension of spiritual life is this: the urge, desire, even need we feel to transform ourselves and the equally pressing urge, desire, or need to accept and love ourselves exactly as we are. These two vectors of the spiritual life seem to be at odds, don’t they? It appears that you could do one but not both. You could either change, or you could honor yourself exactly as you are at this moment. The paradox is that we are apparently being asked to do both. Simultaneously. The Tantric tradition makes careful exploration of this dilemma and comes to an insightful conclusion.
The tradition tells us that when you open to the possibility of honoring yourself exactly as you are at every moment, that attitudinal stance necessarily includes honoring your transformation, because you are not a static entity! Truly accepting yourself as you are clearly encompasses accepting change. But what kind of change? With self-acceptance, you no longer seek to force change upon yourself out of a sense of not being good enough; rather, the change and growth of which we speak is simply what naturally wants to happen. In other words, accepting yourself includes accepting whatever Life most naturally wants to do through you, moment to moment."
